Storyline I Love Maria
RoboCop as a woman... The Hero Gang is a nasty group of thugs terrorizing Hong Kong with their killer robots, Pioneers 1 and 2. While Pioneer 1 looks like an oridinary robot, Pioneer 2 has been modelled on Maria, the gang's #2 thug. When Pioneer 2 gets damaged during a mission to kill an outcast gang member, an inventor on the police force takes her and changes some of her programming. This new code, plus a few injuries to her logic center, start causing Pioneer 2 to develop her own personality.Movie details

"I love Maria", like so many HK-movies, has a somehow confusing plot, several great action scenes, some very funny moments of cartoon-styled humour and some nice FX work (I prefer the special FX of "I love Maria" over those of "RoboCop").
I Love Maria is a mixture of buddy comedy, Japanese science-fiction clichés and even Fritz Lang's Metropolis. It's also light, wacky and quite fun if you're in the right mood. There's not a lot to truly recommend about this film except for the sheer wacked-out slam-bang quality of the whole thing.

I Love Maria is a somewhat enjoyable sci fi action movie. I liked the action, robot designs, the cyberpunk elements were medium-high and Sally Yeh does an excellent job as a robot. Of course, as with HK movies of this nature, the comedic elements are a downfall. I prefer my HK movies to be dark and hateful so up yours.
